Almost 40 years later, it’s now hit 1 billion streams on Spotify.The song topped charts around the world when it came out, and it saw a resurgence around 2007, when the bait-and-switch internet trend of “Rickrolling” took over. If you’ve ever opened a link sent innocently by an acquaintance and ended up on the song’s music video, which has over 1.65 billion views on YouTube, you’re familiar.
