The Bear Season-Finale Recap: The Elephant in the Bear
Carmy, Syd, and Richie lay everything out on the table.
The show has spent its entire fourth season tiptoeing around Sydney’s covert job offer, Carmy’s partnership alterations, and whatever was going on inside Richie’s GoFastBoatsMojito brain, but in one big, 30-odd-minute bottle episode, it’s all been laid on the table. Sydney wishes Carmy could just deal with all his shit while also acting as her backup in the restaurant, and I think in a dream world he’d love that too; I bet even if he runs away and becomes an architect or denim designer or who knows what, he’ll still have the skills to pay the Bear bills should the Carm-signal ever go out. Whether that title is in reference to the restaurant, the sprawling Berzatto clan from “Bears,” or even the growling caged mammal that opened up the whole series is, I suppose, up for debate, but all that matters is that, to Carm and to the seven people in the building “who will jump in front of a train” for Sydney, she’s the one.
