In which amends and chicken are made.

“Tonnato” picks up immediately from where the previous episode left off, with Carmy knocking on his mom’s door, and when she opens it, her hair’s bouncier, her nails are clean, and while she still has a bit of a leathery smoker’s face, there’s an effervescence and clarity to her whole vibe that we didn’t see in seasons past. He tries to dodge at first — he is Carmy, after all — but eventually enters the pretty nice two-story suburban manse, creeping with trepidation through the cursed dining room from “Fishes,” his gaze briefly lingering on Mikey’s chair, before sitting down with his mom in the kitchen.
