While the mother-daughter duo haven’t always had the closest bond, the current season of MTV’s hit reality show is showcasing just how distant the pair have become. Fans met Portwood back in 2009 when she allowed MTV cameras to document the moment she gave birth to daughter Leah with ex Gary Shirley on 16 and Pregnant. In June 2024, Bryson City Police Department in North Carolina confirmed that Wayt had been found safe after Portwood reported him missing.
