A dramatic black-and-white picture was shared, and basically, everything in sight was being tossed toward the character of a Hollywood toughie: an all-black shade, pinstripe suit with the distinguished cigar between the teeth, as if preparing to deliver some kind of iconically inspired monologue. What makes Stallone’s post resonate is not only the message itself-that is, it is only that, really-but it is the credibility sewn into it by a guy who literally fought his way to the top in Hollywood, who bruised and bled more than once, went away but carried on fighting. Now, one other thing is that we are bombarded with convoluted advice from the self-help industry and run-of-the-mill influencer clichés so instead, it is really refreshing to hear four short sentences about mutual respect and self-preservation coming from someone who at one point literally built an entire career off of portraying resilience as a character trait.
