Another mother gave a classic answer: “We finish the season, then decide what’s next.” That does seem pretty much like the best way- Teach them commitment, but don’t force on them a lifelong career they never wanted. Even better than that, some admitted to being “on yo ass” to build work ethic early for one of the hardest-lovey folks; another almost bragged that all their kids got tuition fully paid because of the tough love; and then, on the complete other end of the spectrum, there is a voter discussing the problem of having to FORCE their athlete to REST.
