Rumer Willis Reflects on Dad Bruce’s Dementia Diagnosis on Father’s Day: ‘I Know You Wouldn’t Want Me to Be Sad’
Rumer Willis reflected on her relationship with dad Bruce Willis on Father’s Day amid his dementia diagnosis. The ‘Die Hard’ actor, 70, was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia, a disease that has no cure, in 2022.
In an emotional post shared to Instagram account on Sunday, June 15, the eldest daughter of the Die Hard star, 70, and Demi Moore, 62, spoke about her love for her dad and opened up about the struggles she faces not being able to connect with him the way she did prior to his diagnosis. “But I know you wouldn’t want me to be sad today, so I’ll try to just be grateful reminding myself how lucky I am that you’re my dad and that you’re still with me and I can still hold you and hug you and kiss your cheek and rub your head I can tell you stories.” Referring to her 2-year-old daughter Louetta, whom she shares with her ex , Rumer also wrote about being able to watch Bruce's eyes "light up" when he sees her.
