In the film, Doherty’s character Kate developed feelings for childhood friend David (McMahon) after mysteriously being sent back in time to two days before her late boyfriend Paul’s death in a fire. “With an open heart, I wish to share with the world that my beloved husband, Julian McMahon, died peacefully this week after a valiant effort to overcome cancer,” his wife, Kelly, said in a statement.
