'Modern Family' star Ariel Winter recalls receiving 'inappropriate messages from older men' as a child. 'It caused trauma,' the former child actor says.
The actress, who played Modern Family's Alex Dunphy on all 11 seasons, from 2009 to 2020, told The Daily Mail in a story published Thursday that scrutinized the downside to her early fame. "I don't wanna say too much about it, but by the time I was on a laptop and cell phone, I was getting inappropriate messages from older men," Winter said. Now 27, Winter was just 11 when the hit sitcom, costarring Julie Bowen, Ty Burrell, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Eric Stonestreet, Ed O'Neill, and Sofia Vergara, premiered on ABC.
