King Charles 'banned' from making friendly gesture after being ordered to 'keep distance'

King Charles has maintained good relations with the Dalai Lama for years, but it has now been reported that Sir Keir Starmer has put the blocks on their friendship

Maintaining good working relations has been a key part of the reign of all monarchs over the years, with Queen Elizabeth having previously spoken highly of Mother Teresa during their encounters. But, according to Ephraim Hardcastle in the Daily Mail, Sir Keir Starmer recently put the brakes on King Charles wishing the Dalai Lama a happy 90th birthday last week (July 6) over fears that it could damage relations with China. Sir Keir is reportedly especially keen to uphold good relations with the Chinese, with a trip pencilled in for later this year to Beijing, where he is expected to meet President Xi Jinping.
