Kevin Spacey Receives Italian Global Series Festival Award & Praises Franco Nero For “Casting Me When Very Few Had The Guts”
Kevin Spacey picked up a Maximo Excellent award at the debuting Italian Global Series Festival last night, as his comeback quest continues.
Accepting his award, which was presented by Italy’s Undersecretary of Culture Lucia Borgonzoni, Spacey said Nero had “stepped up to cast me a few years ago when very few had the guts, and I thank him for that.” He was acquitted of the sexual assault of four men in the UK two years ago, and was found not liable in a civil case actor Anthony Rapp brought in the U.S. Spacey has previously denied these claims, labelling them “anonymised and non-specific” while criticizing the documentary for not giving him and his people enough time to respond.
