The Princess of Wales joined husband Prince William to welcome French president Emmmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte to the UK for a state visit

The Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, joined Prince William to welcome French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte to the UK today, Tuesday 8 July. William and Kate accompanied the Macrons by car on a 14-mile journey to Windsor, where they were met by King Charles and Queen Camilla in the town ahead of a carriage ride up the Long Walk to the castle for a ceremonial welcome and guard of honour. The King and the French president are set to deliver speeches at a state banquet tonight in the medieval St George's Hall, where around 160 guests will dine at an ornate 50-metre table stretching the length of the grand room.
