In the 50-second video, the singer surprises fans by channeling iconic artists Charo and Carmen Miranda, but with her own unique twist: instead of Miranda’s classic fruit headpieces, she rocks a pair of bongos strapped to her waist, coconuts as part of her top, and a bright orange outfit — setting the stage for a radiant, Latin rhythm-filled new era. “This album is an homage to all those Latin music genres I grew up listening to,” Karol G recently told Billboard Español. It’s an opportunity to show people who Carolina is, beyond just Karol G,” the singer told Billboard Español on the red carpet ahead of the documentary’s premiere on May 6 in New York City.
