On Sunday, June 29, Bristowe posted a video of herself listening to the heartbreak ballad via her Instagram Story and appeared to dispel the fan speculation. Bristowe introduced “Lonely in Love” to her followers last month, describing her journey of writing a new song five years after she released her last single. Bristowe later croons, “You took my heart and everything for granted / And I just ran through the motions / Burned out and broken / You’d think you’d notice me / Lying awake in a bed we just sleep in / Dreaming of reasons to not give it up.”
