Jim Hill Set For Los Angeles Area Emmy Governors Award


Longtime L.A. sportscaster will receive the 2025 Los Angeles Area Emmy Governors Award.

After a career in college and pro football — he played defensive back for the NFL’s San Diego Chargers, Green Bay Packers and Cleveland Browns — Hill joined CBS2(then KNXT) as a sportscaster in 1976. Hill also has covered worldwide sporting events, including the Super Bowl and Winter Olympics and has hosted pay-per-view boxing telecasts on Showtime. The Governors Award is presented to an individual, company or organization that has made an outstanding, innovative and visionary achievement in the arts, sciences or management of television as well as a substantial contribution to the greater Los Angeles area.
