Jenna Bush Hager revealed that her mom, Laura Bush, was a drama counselor at Camp Mystic while sharing her connection to the Texas camp
Bush Hager noted that “many” of her friends had their children at the camp last week, adding that the stories she heard over the past couple days were both “beautiful and heartbreaking.” As Bush Hager, 42, began recalling the drop off during the Monday, July 8, episode of Today With Hoda & Jenna, a selfie with daughters Mila, 11, and Poppy, 8, flashed up on the screen. The Today With Jenna & Friends host also paid tribute to Dick Eastland, who served as the owner of the camp and died while trying to save the campers.
