Jack White celebrated his 50th birthday with wife Olivia Jean, who bought him his first cell phone, an iPhone.

The musician celebrated his milestone birthday on Wednesday by receiving an extra-special gift: his first-ever cell phone. He shared several photos taken by Jean, showing White awkwardly holding an iPhone, looking utterly perplexed and unsure how to hanlde the device. “I’ve been saying that my days were numbered for years,” White said in the caption, explaining that as the modern world continues to depend on smartphones, it was time for him to join the 21st century.
