I Watch TV Shows for a Living — Here’s What I’m Streaming This Week (June 23-29)

This week, you should be watching a Gen Z comedy on Hulu, a thrilling true crime doc on HBO Max or a detective show featuring a literary icon

The story of Sherlock Holmes has been told and retold hundreds of times over the years, with the intellectual detective reaching mythological status in pop culture since Sir Arthur Conan Doyle introduced him to the world in 1887. I’m a sucker for found-family TV shows, and Adults ’ circle of sarcastic, vaguely narcissistic friends reminds me of Broad City ’s Abbi and Ilana and Happy Endings ’ gang of lovable nitwits. The series features interviews with the accused as well as the victims of the family’s criminal activities, as well as dramatizations that detail some of the gruesome allegations, which include corpse mutilation, mass cremations and more.
