Foo Fighters Return to Mark 30th Anniversary With New Track ‘Today’s Song’
To coincide with the band’s 30th anniversary, Foo Fighters returned Wednesday with "Today’s Song," their first new music in two years.
“It should go without saying that without the boundless energy of William Goldsmith, the seasoned wisdom of Franz Stahl, and the thunderous wizardry of Josh Freese, this story would be incomplete, so we extend our heartfelt gratitude for the time, music, and memories that we shared with each of them over the years. “A few heaping plates of food, a few bottles of wine, one thing leading to another, and before long we had started a new band with other dear friends, Pat Smear and William Goldsmith,” Grohl said. The track marks the Foo Fighters’ first new original music since their 2023 album But Here We Are; the band quietly resurfaced for the first time amid all the domestic drama recently to release a Minor Threat cover.
