Ewan McGregor's 'forgotten' period drama hailed 'sublime'

Ewan McGregor starred in a television adaptation of the novel, A Gentleman In Moscow, which was a hit with critics but failed to capture the imagination of the public

Taking viewers back in time, the standalone eight-part series was shot across Bolton, Manchester, and Yorkshire, featuring iconic sites like Victoria Square and the Space Studios. Critic Hugo Rifkind specially notes the beauty of the interactions that McGregor's character has throughout the show, saying: "Don't imagine, though, that what you're getting here is merely a Soviet-era version of Tom Hanks in The Terminal. It has been hailed as a career peak for McGregor (Image: Jason Bell/Paramount+ With Showtime)Wenlei Ma added: "It's a series that glides down easily as it invites you to be part of its world, to stand still for a small moment before everything changes, again."
