Ecco, an AI-powered streaming discovery app, raised $7 million in seed funding from Ben Silverman, Shaquille O'Neal, Alex Avant, Miguel Melendez and more.
Currently, he says, Ecco has more than 21 million pieces of content across multiple services including Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV+, Max/HBO Max, Paramount+, Peacock and Tubi. Other investors include Ben Silverman and Howard Owens, co-founders of Propagate Content; NBA champion and entrepreneur Shaquille O’Neal; Miguel Melendez, co-founder of Westbrook Entertainment; Bernard Kim, former CEO of Match Group and former president of Zynga; Greg Smith, chairman of American Airlines; streamer Adin Ross; Michael Nyman, CEO of Acceleration Community of Companies (ACC); actor and producer Alex Avant; and Scott Tonn, manager and principal of Tonn Investments.
