EastEnders star Frank Barrie, best known for his role in the BBC soap as Edward Bishop and his work on the stage, has died at the age of 88, his agent has confirmed

Born in Yorkshire, Barrie was known for his role as Edward Bishop on the acclaimed soap from 2010 to 2011, where he led a church choir and shared screen time with the legendary late June Brown as Dot Cotton.
