Donald Trump’s recent policies have affected regional Mexican artists like Grupo Firme, Julión Álvarez, and others have had their visas revoked.

Just in the past two months, regional Mexican artists — such as Los Alegres del Barranco, Julión Álvarez and Grupo Firme — have been affected by sudden problems with their work visas. Such was the case for the “King of the Box Office” Julión Álvarez, who was unable to make it to his show in Texas in late May after being informed at the airport that he could not board the plane due to his visa being canceled. Meanwhile, Grupo Firme was unable to perform at La Onda Fest in Napa Valley, California, on June 1.
