Donald Trump Refiles Lawsuit Against Iowa Pollster Ann Selzer In State Court — Update


Trump sued the pollster under an Iowa consumer law.

“Plaintiffs President Donald J. Trump, Representative Mariannette Miller-Meeks, and Former State Senator Bradley Zaun, give notice of their dismissal of this action without prejudice pursuant to Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 41(1)(A)(i),” Trump’s legal team wrote in a filing in federal court in Iowa on Monday. Trump sued Selzer in December claiming violation of the Iowa Consumer Fraud Act. In January, FIRE said of the lawsuit, “The notion that officials can recast the electorate as ‘consumers’ to punish political speech or news they don’t like is squarely at odds with the First Amendment.
