Dolly Parton, 79, makes heartbreaking career decision after husband Carl Dean's death


Dolly Parton has given a heartbreaking update on her career after the death of her husband of 59 years, Carl Dean.

Dolly announced the release of her single on Instagram and revealed the artwork, an old photo showing her standing up behind Carl and wrapping her arms around her neck while beaming for the camera. In an Instagram statement the legendary singer revealed that Carl passed away in Nashville on Monday, March 3rd, as she reflected on the 'many wonderful years' the pair spent together The only witnesses to the low-key ceremony on May 30, 1966, were the pastor's wife and Dolly's mother, Avie Lee Owens, she told Local 3 News in Tennessee in 2012.
