Charlize Theron Says It ‘Frustrates Me’ That Hollywood Takes Risks on Men Who Flop at the Box Office but ‘Women Don’t Get a Chance Again’: ‘Guys Get a Free Ride’

Charlize Theron says female action stars only have one shot to deliver a box office hit because Hollywood rarely gives them a second chance.

Charlize Theron recently spoke to The New York Times and called out a Hollywood double standard when it comes to action movies. “I had an unfortunate injury on the first action attempt I ever did, for a bad movie called ‘Aeon Flux.’ On day nine, I did a back handspring, and I didn’t get enough height, and I landed on my neck on a concrete bridge. Theron hangs off a flying helicopter in “The Old Guard 2,” which she told Variety is a new highlight of her action movie career.
