The 79th edition of the Cannes Film Festival is set to run from May 12-23, 2026. The news comes less than three weeks after its 78th edition concluded, which saw Jafar Panahi’s It Was Just An Accident win the Palme d’Or, marking a celebrated in-person return to the festival for the Iranian filmmaker, who last attended the event 22 years ago. Cannes has not announced the dates for its market, which last year took place May 13-21 during the festival (May 13-23).
