On Monday, the bounce icon announced her LP Pressing Onward, and shared its track list, which includes collaborations with Billy Porter and Tamar Braxton. “This album started as a message of healing for the world — but now, it’s me who’s holding on to the music for strength,” Freedia wrote on Instagram about the LP, which drops Aug. 8. Freedia previously described the era of music as “taking it back to my roots.” She grew up being the choir director of her high school and home church in New Orleans.
