Australia’s Stan Lands ‘Outlander’ Spinoff, ‘Miniature Wife’ & ‘American Hostage’ Through Extension Of Sony Pact
Stan has bought 'Outlander: Blood of My Blood', 'The Miniature Wife' and 'American Hostage' after a new deal with Sony Pictures Television.
Stan and SPT have had a long-standing strategic content agreement in place, which gives the Australian streaming service Hollywood firepower to compete against the likes of Netflix, Binge, Paramount+, Prime Video and HBO Max, the latter of which we hear has made a strong start in Australia after launching there in March. “As Australia’s only locally owned and operated premium streaming service, we’re proud to work with world-class partners like Sony to deliver compelling, first-run series that resonate with our audiences. Sony Pictures’ Co-Heads of Distribution, Australia and New Zealand, Carolyn Ozkoseoglu and Julia Salter, added the agreement would support Stan’s “ambition to bring Australian audiences some of the most compelling scripted content coming out of the U.S. right now.”
