All the Disturbing Takeaways From One Night in Idaho: College Murders Docuseries

Following a plea deal from Bryan Kohberger, the docuseries left one major question unanswered.

Amazon’s docuseries, which is executive produced by Liz Garbus and James Patterson, drops a week after Peacock’s own documentary on the crimes and sets out to fill in as many holes as possible with extensive interviews from friends, family, college professors, and other individuals who knew the victims and their killer. Hunter Johnson, 24, who stopped the other friends from entering the crime scene after taking Chapin’s pulse and realizing he was dead, was also targeted by online “detectives.” A police video of a noise complaint before the murders shows him coming to the door with a zip tie around his wrist. Kohberger’s former criminology classmate Ferraro also pointed out that they actually studied the case of the serial killer Elliot Rodger in their class, known as an “incel hero” after he targeted the “hottest” sorority college girls.
