Alice Cooper Teases Wild New Show With Classic 80s Hits And Trivia
This rock god is back with a fresh series serving up entertainment that was so much in demand by the pop culture and music world from all...
It came out as a surreal fever dream from the utmost music nerd, with Cooper promising his “little minions” an ’80s post-apocalyptic vibe with The Police through a rendition of “When the World is Running Down,” a fiery cover of Head East’s “Since You’ve Been Gone,” and the icing on top-or possibly a huge harpsichord-being from Procol Harum via the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra for “Conquistador.” No one had apparently ever given a thought to orchestral harpsichords accompanying rock until now. Another highlight saw a fan begging, “Don’t forget the mouth slashes this time!” in reference to some of Cooper’s infamous stage antics involving fake blood and very sharp objects. The juicy bit here is not so much the playlist (that Procol Harum orchestral affair, however, is genuinely bonkers) but how Cooper maintains that crazy mix of theatrical menace with sincere music scholarship.
