The first Tommy Wirkola directed movie follows an embittered Santa played by Stranger Things ‘ David Harbour, as he battles mercenaries who’ve taken a wealthy family hostage in their home. This weekend Universal looks to surprise with the live-action take of the DreamWorks Animation movie, How to Train Your Dragon, which is looking at a $65M-$75M (maybe even much more) and a $175M-$185M global opening. It’s the second live-action take of a classic feature toon to rule at this summer’s box office after Disney’s Lilo & Stitch which will ultimately hit $400M.
