‘Unaccustomed Earth’: Nisha Ganatra Pulls Out Of Directing; Ritesh Batra Steps In To Helm
Netflix's upcoming drama series Unaccustomed Earth, based on Jhumpa Lahiri’s collection of short stories, is undergoing a director change.
When a star-crossed romance between a devoted wife and her long-lost love comes to light, a scandalous affair is born, and new battle lines are drawn in this intensely interconnected immigrant community. In addition to Wells, Shekar, and Ganatra, EPs also include Jhumpa Lahiri, Erica Saleh, Erin Jontow, and Celia Costas. Indian filmmaker Batra’s Hindi-language debut feature The Lunchbox won the Rail d’Or at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival’s Critics’ Week.
