‘The Wizard of Oz’ Is Following the Yellow Brick Road to Las Vegas’ Sphere
Reimagined 1939 film and extremes sports documentary The Edge are the newest offerings from Sphere Entertainment
Directed by Academy Award winners E. Chai Vasarhelyi and Jimmy Chin, From The Edge will profile five outdoor athletes known for embracing extremes, includes free diver Alenka Artnik, skier Markus Eder, rock climber Alex Honnold, BASE jumper Katie Hansen Lajeunesse and surfer Kai Lenny – and take audiences inside the world of extreme sports. Since opening in late 2023 with U2:UV Achtung Baby Live at Sphere, the domed desert entertainment complex has mostly played host to concerts with engagements from Dead and Co., the Eagles, Phish and Backstreet Boys, as well as the nature documentary Postcard From Earth. Shares of Sphere were down 6.85 percent following the news, likely a result of continued selloffs in the equities market in reaction to President Donald Trump’s trade policies.
