As California continues to rebuild after the wildfires earlier this year, Apple’s latest survival drama immortalizes the deadliest fire in the state’s history. Co-written by Greengrass and Brad Inglesby, The Lost Bus is inspired by true events featured in Lizzie Johnson’s 2021 book Paradise: One Town’s Struggle to Survive an American Wildfire. Igniting in Butte County in November 2018, the Camp Fire caused 86 fatalities and burned more than 150,000 acres.
