Maverick Distribution has bought French rights to “The Housewife,” Ben Shirinian’s psychological thriller starring Naomi Watts, Tye Sheridan, Michael Imperioli and Luke Evans. The deal with Maverick Distribution, Florent Bugeau’s newly launched company, was negotiated at the Cannes Film Market where Neon presented the title to international buyers. Set in 1964, “The Housewife” follows a determined New York Times journalist (Sheridan) investigating a lead about a potential former Nazi officer quietly living in Queens.
