‘Laid’ Canceled At Peacock After One Season
The Stephanie Hsu-led rom-com 'Laid' has been canceled by Peacock, Deadline has learned exclusively.
While Laid boasted a talented ensemble cast, a catchy title, and a must-stream playlist, the rom-com failed to make the Nielsen streaming rankings, nor did it generate as much buzz as other projects from co-showrunners, executive producers, and writers Nahnatchka Khan and Sally Bradford McKenna. The 8-episode series follows Ruby Yao (Hsu), a woman who finds out her former lovers are dying in unusual ways and must go back through her sex timeline to confront her past in order to move forward. The cast also includes Michael Angarano in a principal role, and key guest stars Andre Hyland, Kate Berlant, David Denman, John Early, Ettore “Big E” Ewen, Chloe Fineman, Olivia Holt, Simu Liu, Finneas O’Connell, and Alexandra Shipp.
