'I discovered a stunning White Lotus-style Italian hotel that costs less'

The White Lotus season two made us all want to book a chic Italian escape – and we found exactly that, a gorgeous getaway on the shores of Lake Garda instead

While that particular series of the popular TV show was set in Sicily, we stumbled upon a sophisticated five-star hotel on the western shore of Lake Garda in northern Italy, offering serene views, Michelin-starred dining and top-notch service. The bar excels in classic Italian cocktails – think Americanos, Aperol spritzes, Bellinis – plus any other tipple you fancy, and drinks are served with a generous array of canapés that could easily pass for a light meal. Elsewhere, the hotel's Trattoria Il Pescatore serves up delectable fresh seafood dishes, while Magnolia is the go-to spot for laid-back lunches beneath its 200 year old tree.
