‘Fortnite’ Players to Receive More Than $126 Million in Refunds From FTC

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is issuing more refunds to players of Epic Games "Fortnite."

The government agency announced the new round of refunds Wednesday, which brings the total amount that the FTC has issued to consumers related to its now-settled 2023 case against Epic regarding its billing practices to nearly $200 million. The FTC issued 629,344 payments to “Fortnite” players in December 2024, a first round of refunds that totaled more than $72 million. The FTC says that consumers selected their preferred payment method when they completed their initial claim form and encourages check recipients to cash checks within 90 days, while PayPal recipients should redeem their refund payments within 30 days.
