‘Fallout 76’ Developers Tease Game Tie-Ins for Season 2 of Amazon TV Series, Why It Was Finally Time to Go Fish
"Fallout 76" developers are prepping updates tied to "Fallout" Season 2, as well as the game studio's own fresh game-specific features.
On June 3, “Fallout 76” added its free “Gone Fission” update, a DLC that Rush says the development team have been discussing “for a while” — even as fans had been rabidly asking for the feature across social media platforms. “I think the timing of it just worked out for the summer to where it felt like, oh, fishing is a very summer activity,” Rush said, adding that the feature is especially an obvious win for “Fallout 76” players already “familiar with the Appalachia map,” as “there’s water all over the place.” “Streams, ponds, rivers, creeks, and so I think once you say that, the imagination just kind of starts going, what kind of crazy things am I going to be pulling out of Wasteland waters?” Rush said. “And so what we’re seeing a lot right now is people are finding these really like niche areas of streams and lakes and things like that that they’ve never really kind of discovered, and they’re going, I’m going to build a camp there.
