The new Netflix competition series “ Building the Band ” is dedicated to the guest host Liam Payne, who died in October. “Liam is a guest judge in later episodes, and through his presence, we see his deep love for music and his unwavering commitment to helping others find their voice. The singers speak to each other through a wall — in the style of Netflix’s dating series, “Love Is Blind” — until they finally meet face-to-face and grow and test their musical compatibility connection.
