22 baby names 'going extinct' in 2025 - including Royal Family favourites
Baby names are constantly evolving and some are at risk of going extinct soon
While BabyCenter releases an annual list of the most popular baby names, it's the ones not making the cut that might raise eyebrows. In their research, they revealed: "Catherine, Anne, Phillip, Albert, and Edward – all names of British royal family members in recent history – each tumbled more than 100 spots. Examples include Lexi, a shortened version of Alexandra, and Archie, short for Archibald - famously the name of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's first born.
